Butterfly Pressure Cooker: troubleshooting and FAQs
Troubleshooting tips and frequently asked questions for Butterfly Pressure Cooker.
Troubleshooting tips
If the pressure cooker is not building pressure, check the rubber gasket for wear or damage and replace it if necessary. Also, ensure the pressure regulator (weight) is properly seated on the vent tube.
If steam leaks from the sides of the lid, the gasket may be loose or the lid may not be locked properly. Clean the gasket and lid rim, and ensure the lid is turned fully to the locked position.
If the safety valve releases steam during cooking, the vent tube may be clogged or the gasket may be faulty. Clean the vent tube with a pin and replace the gasket if needed.
If the cooker whistles too frequently or takes too long to whistle, check the heat setting and the amount of liquid. Adjust the flame to medium and ensure there is enough water (at least 1 cup) for proper steam generation.
If the pressure cooker is making a rattling noise, the pressure regulator may be loose or the food may be boiling too vigorously. Reduce the heat and ensure the regulator is properly placed.
