Troubleshooting tips and frequently asked questions for Amul Ice Cream.
Troubleshooting tips
If your Amul cream has separated or curdled, it may have been exposed to high temperatures. Check the storage temperature (should be 2-8°C) and ensure the pack is not damaged. If separation occurs, gently shake the pack before use, but if it smells sour, discard it.
If the cream doesn't whip properly, ensure it is well-chilled (below 4°C) and use a cold bowl and beaters. Over-whipping can cause it to turn into butter, so stop when soft peaks form.
If you notice a sour smell or off-taste, the cream may be past its expiry date or not stored properly. Always check the 'use by' date and store in the coldest part of the fridge.
Frequently asked questions
How should I store Amul cream to keep it fresh?
Store Amul cream in the refrigerator at 2-8°C. Keep it sealed and use within the expiry date. Once opened, consume within 2-3 days.
Why does my Amul cream curdle when added to hot dishes?
Curdling can occur if the cream is added to boiling liquid or if the dish is too acidic. To prevent this, temper the cream by adding a small amount of hot liquid to it first, then gradually add to the dish. If you experience persistent issues, contact Amul at estore@amul.coop.
