How to escalate a complaint with BEL

If the first response isn’t good enough, here’s the path to a resolution.

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) is a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. For consumer complaints and grievances, BEL provides dedicated contact channels including a toll-free number, public grievance officers, and a Chief Vigilance Officer for escalated complaints.

  1. Primary Customer Care Contact

Register your complaint with BEL's customer care or public grievance officers. Use the toll-free number for customer complaints or the designated public grievance officer contact.

    Toll-Free Customer Complaints
18004250433 Toll-free number for BEL customer complaints registration.
    Public Grievance Officer (Bangalore)
080-28381886 Contact for public grievances; email: tnsingh[at]bel[dot]co[dot]in
    • Clearly state your complaint details, including any relevant order or product information.
    • Keep a record of your complaint reference number and date of submission.
  2. Escalation to Grievance/Nodal Officer

If the primary contact does not resolve your issue, escalate to the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) or the designated nodal officer for your region.

    Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO)
Chief Vigilance Officer, Bharat Electronics Limited, Registered & Corporate Office, Outer Ring Road, Nagavara, Bangalore – 560 045 Address for written complaints; also reachable via the public grievance officer contact.
    • Complaints with irrelevant, vague, absurd, or generalized allegations may be disposed at the discretion of the CVO.
    • Provide all supporting documents and a clear chronology of events.
  3. External/Regulatory Escalation

If BEL does not resolve your complaint, escalate to India's general consumer-protection route: National Consumer Helpline or the Consumer Commission under CPA 2019.

    National Consumer Helpline
1915 Toll-free helpline for consumer grievances.
    Consumer Helpline Website
https://consumerhelpline.gov.in Online portal for filing consumer complaints.
    • Before approaching the consumer commission, ensure you have exhausted BEL's internal grievance mechanisms.
    • You can file a complaint with the appropriate Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission based on the value of goods/services.

Tips for a stronger escalation

  • Always keep a written record of all communications, including emails, letters, and call logs.
  • Clearly state the relief you expect and set a reasonable deadline for resolution.
  • If contacting by phone, note the date, time, and name of the representative you speak with.
  • Use email or written communication for formal complaints to create a paper trail.
  • If your complaint is not resolved within a reasonable time (e.g., 30 days), escalate to the next level.
  • When approaching external forums, attach copies of all prior correspondence and complaint reference numbers.

Stop chasing emails

Log the complaint once in the Simply C2 app and keep every escalation step, date and reply in one place.
